In Waking Life, the protagonist keeps waking up from one dream to find he's in another one, yet he has lucid philosophical conversations with people in his dreams. In comparison, my rare dreams aren't that deep. Sometimes I'll dream that I've got exams coming up and I'll stop in mid-check and go, No way! I'm working now! And then my dream consciousness will reply, Oh it's fine then. We'll just carry on dreaming anyway.
