Random thoughts Stray memories

Someone once said learning jazz is like learning a foreign language. You're only proficient when you can dream and think in it, when translating emotions from your heart to your hands becomes second nature. And jazz is open-ended music, with room for deviations each time it's performed. This leads me to think that if jazz is like a book, the book margins will be filled in with handwritten comments, much as jazz is about improvisions.

Now playing St. Germain's Rose Rouge.
