People who don't know my best friend and I personally often don't know what to make of our friendship. I'm not sure if it's cos they don't expect people to have best friends when they're no longer kids, or they don't expect best friends to be of different gender. Somehow the concept seems really foreign to them. Why? It wouldn't make much difference to our friendship even if we were of the same gender, 'cept maybe we could finally thrash out each other's teams in the English league (if we were guys), or drool over hunks together (if we were gals). If you could see us together, you'd understand what I mean.
