When inheriting cake orders done halfway by other bakers (esp. those who do not follow standard recipes or document their own secret recipes), I find that most of the time is spent scrutinising the cake mixture and wondering what ingredients are already in there. Even when secret recipes have been jotted down, they can be so cryptic that it's like lines from fortune cookies instead. In this case, I guess we make do as much as possible and hope the customer doesn't get food poisoning.
